Quiana Jackson/Tiffany Santana/Carlton Young(CY)/Pastor Edwin Harris Season 3 Episode 1

Send us a text

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a season of life, uncertain of when your next chapter would begin? Join me as I reconnect with some awe-inspiring individuals—Coach Tiffany Santana, Carlton CY Young, and Pastor Edward Harris—to uncover the profound impact of faith in transforming lives and guiding us through life's varying seasons. Their stories are not just powerful; they are testaments to the strength, patience, and wisdom needed to discern our path and embrace the growth that each season brings.

This episode is a heartfelt mosaic of conversations that delve into the idea that our toughest moments could be cloaked blessings meant to protect us, as well as a celebration of those periods of preparation that quietly set the stage for our future successes. We reflect on biblical accounts like Daniel's and draw parallels with our own life experiences, discussing the importance of giving your best no matter the circumstance. Our guests bring unique perspectives on perseverance, the value of learning from every experience, and the signs that hint at when it's time to move forward.

As we conclude, we explore how even the smallest life lessons can hone us for the victories ahead, just like David's triumph over Goliath. I share a personal revelation that came at 52, proving that our gifts, when finally revealed, can steer us onto new, divine paths. Whether you're seeking guidance, affirmation, or simply a dose of inspiration, this episode promises to illuminate the purpose within each season of your life and the excellence we're called to embody as we share our light with the world.

Speaker 1:

Hey, hey, hey everyone, this is Keanna, your creator and your host of Cue for Christ, and I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone that has liked, shared, you commented, whatever you've done. I'm so excited and I promise you that I don't take it kindly about being a vessel for Christ. Okay, this is a serious business, and anytime I get on here to relay his message, it is serious. So I just say thank you again, thank you and also happy holidays. I know the holidays is around and I'm so excited and I just want to make sure you all are having a wonderful, wonderful holiday.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so tonight, tonight, tonight, I have this special, special episode where I am going to be chatting with some wonderful, incredible, incredible people that God has placed in my life, and I'm so excited tonight about having this because, if you do know, if you haven't followed me, I started with panels and so now I'm getting back to doing the panels and taking something that God has given me, and now I'm able to bring some more incredible people on the page. So I'm excited about this. So tonight, with this special, special episode, I am going to have the privilege of speaking with some incredible people, so I want them to just kind of introduce themselves, and so I am going to go with Ms Coach Tiffany Santana. I'm going to let her come in her own individual way, but we also have Mr Carlton CY Young on here and we also have Pastor Ed with Harris, so I'm so excited, I'm going to let them kind of come in their own way. Let them let you all know who they are. Okay, so how are you doing tonight, ms Coach Tiffany Santana? Look, I'm forgetting.

Speaker 2:

I'm pretty goody too. Thank you so much for having me, tiffany Santana. As Keonah said, I'm transformational confidence for purpose coach and speaker, and I'm also the executive director of Bethany House of Northern Virginia, which is a domestic violence intervention program based right outside of Washington DC.

Speaker 1:

That look. I love that. That is so cool because we need that. You know what I'm saying? A lot of people don't take that initiative to do stuff like that, and I like how you say transformational confidence coach. A lot of people don't think they need help with their confidence, but helping people with confidence is awesome. I love that. Thank you for being here. Thank you, all right, I am going to go to Mr Carton's seat. Why you young? I'm so excited to have him on here. Let me tell y'all. I came across his page. This is how God works. I don't think I understand how my God works. So I came across his page and he is one of my Bible. You members, I'm so excited about that. So how you doing tonight, mr Carton?

Speaker 3:

I am doing amazing. I am grateful to be here. Thank you for this opportunity to join this esteemed panel. My name is Carlton Young. On Instagram I go by Mr 8020. I'm originally from Birmingham, Alabama. I now live in the Dallas Texas area. I'm a husband, I am a father, I'm a friend, I'm a brother and I focus on. I don't call it motivational speaker. I like what Coach Tiffany said. I'm a transformational speaker because motivation only lasts for a while. You need to actually transform your mindset, so I'm a transformational keynote speaker, mentor, coaching and then professional space. I have been a sales executive by trade over the last 15 years.

Speaker 1:

I love that. I love that and I'm telling you, when I say he had a great testimony, I think I want to let you tell your testimony right now. From what I saw on your page, If you feel like telling your testimony, would you please just tell a little bit. You ain't got to go into full detail but just a little bit of your testimony.

Speaker 3:

I give you the abbreviated view of my testimony. So basically, I was shot at point blank range when I was 25. I ended up going through three surgeries. By the grace of God that I'm still here. I literally saw the trigger squeeze and felt the pain. About 30 seconds later I said you shot me. The next thing I remember I'm waking up in a hospital bed Three surgeries later.

Speaker 3:

You wouldn't be able to tell that I've been shot, but God always gives me a constant reminder because I have a friend that's from the West Coast and they call it a zipper. So I have a scar from right up under my chest all the way down to my navel. That's a reminder. I have a scar here for where they went and removed some blood clots. So I'm just blessed and the bullet is actually still lies near my spine. It's too close to operate so they don't want to risk me being paralyzed by getting too close to my spine. So I have a constant reminder of God's grace. But even with all that, I still was an up ahead. But God knows how and when and he knows when the appointed time, and now is my appointed time. So I'm grateful to be here and I'm grateful that God saw fit to let me allow me to live to tell this story.

Speaker 1:

Hey man, like PD said, he keep us doing our silly season, you know, and he has really, really done that. I mean, I know all of us have a testimony, but I just remember that I used to work in emergency rooms and ICU, so I've seen all of that, and for you to be here, that's amazing, you know it's crazy and honestly I have to.

Speaker 3:

even I didn't want to go in depth, but that was like the fourth attempt on my life. So I've had four attempts on my life, via a car wreck, via just different things. So I guess they say God kept me here for a reason.

Speaker 1:

Right, and God chases the ones he loved.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 1:

So just thank you, thank you for being on here and now I know I say the best for last because you know, pastor Edward Harris, I'm telling you this man right here, when I can find somebody that write notes more than I write notes, that just that just bless my soul right there. I remember meeting you in Rock the World with your words, and we've been online and I finally got a chance to meet him and thrive. So how you doing tonight, pastor, and I know you done, did a lot already.

Speaker 4:

I literally just ended Bible study. Right, I just ended. And to hear you talk, carlton, the last one, the last person to be read was in Acts 14, where the Bible says that they stoned Paul and drug him out, thinking he was dead, but there were some disciples that surrounded him. He got back up, went back in and kept on doing what he had to do, right? So I just knew when you was talking at this, as I was sitting there just being cool because I'm like I just can't. I just got to teach you.

Speaker 4:

I can run real good right now, but I'm just going to calm down, drink my little smoothie, and so it's just good to be on the screen with somebody who they thought was dead. But, man, you still have to work Exactly God has called you to do. Sir, my name is Edwin Harris. I am also a transformational life coach, and one of my focuses is to help people who are stuck get unstucked. I also serve as the lead pastor of the St Mark Baptist Church in Harvey, illinois, which is part of the greater Chicagoland area.

Speaker 4:

I am married to my lovely wife, and next year will be 30 years. I have three adult children, and the list goes on and on. God has just been good to me. I'm about to release my first book, entitled From the Cult to the Pull Pit Wow, and so just a story of that. And it's been a stretch because the this publishing company is yeah, they stress at me, but God is doing something else, and so I'm going to let God have his way. God's timing is his kindness, and so we're going to trust God for that, and so I'm looking forward to this conversation tonight.

Speaker 1:

Amen, amen. Oh, my goodness, I'm so excited for you, pastor Edwin, I don't know what to do. I remember when you got that award, I was like I can't put it down, but like you deserve everything that you got. So I'm so excited. So I'm going to say a quick prayer before we go further, because I want to make sure the Holy Spirit is with us, which I know he is, but I want to make sure we usher in him and then we'll go right into it.

Speaker 1:

Okay so, dear heavenly father, first off, I want to say thank you for this time that you carved out for us to be able to come in to discuss your word. God, I thank you just for being a vessel that you can use. God, I ask you to hide me behind anything, god. God, I want you to get the glorification, god, and I just thank you for every family that is represented on here. God, I thank you for every person that is on here. God, I thank you for blessing their household. I thank you for blessing their ministry. I thank you for blessing them and taking them further than they ever have gone. God, we just thank you now. We love you, we honor you and we cherish you for this moment that you're going to be able, so someone can be blessed on from listening to what we have to say, god, and so we thank you. Now, god, I thank you for the voice in Jesus' name that I pray. All right, so I own.

Speaker 1:

So today I had God put on my heart about mislaboring seasons and I know Pastor Danny's kind of hit on it this Sunday a little bit about it, but we were I know, me and Pastor Evan had been talking about it and I had got sick, and then it was like, oh, you know. And so when I got everybody together and Pastor Danny was talking about, I was like, oh yeah, this is perfect, you know. And so tonight, you know, what we're gonna be talking about is the major effects of mislaboring season and how it can hinder us from moving to our next season. A lot of people, you know, they don't realize that sometimes they hinder themselves, and I can tell you one time, like I have gone through the war and a lot of the times God has shown me to leave, I did not leave in that time and in that moment, and so I had to endure some things that I didn't have to endure. You know what I'm saying, and so I in my mind, I was like, well, I accept, this is what I supposed to be doing. And God is like, nah, you're not doing what I need you to do. And you know, and long story, boring God had to really pick me up because I had started idolizing my marriage. I had started idolizing the way it looked, not thinking that that's not how God wanted it to be, and I had to really be plucked up out of that. So, anyways, that's a whole new story for a different day.

Speaker 1:

But you know, sometimes we mislabel things, and the definition of mislabel that I found is to put information that is not correct on something, or to describe someone or something in a way that is not correct or fair. And so we don't realize that sometimes, when we are saying that God is taking us through, you know, pain when it's something that he's protecting, you know. So sometimes we have to realize that one season is not that season, and I can just think about how, when the children, you know, I know everybody, all of us on here, got children, we be like telling them no, and it's for their good, and they, you know, sad and it's like, okay, I'm telling you no for a reason. And so sometimes, when God tells us no, we be like well, why God? But we have to know that it is for a reason. And so I wanted to read Ecclesiastes 3 and 1, which you know, it's a very familiar scripture, and it just basically says wait a second, because I had it up and in oh, wait a minute, I got it on my other stuff. But it basically says there's a time and a season for everything. And so we know that it is a time and a season for everything. Trying to laugh, or time to cry, you know it can go all the way down the list. And so we have to know that sometimes we will mistake a season for what is not okay. So we have to realize that.

Speaker 1:

And so tonight I just wanted to get on here and discuss it with some of my, with some of my close, well, some of my friends. That's in the Bible, you with me and that's in the dance stand. I'm so excited. So tonight what I'm going to do is just ask a few questions, you know, and hey, y'all feel free to go for it. So one of the questions is that came to mind that I was thinking about. Like you know, it's because I know I have been in a season or, like I just explained just then, and have there been any seasons where you just had no clue why God had you there, like you know, and what did you do when? When you, you know, you was like okay, god, why am I here, you know, and feel free to answer that.

Speaker 3:

I would say yes, but also I think you need to start kind of learning the spiritual seasons of life, right? There's different seasons, like from my research and what I've read up on and I'm not saying that this is what I believe Like the first season there's a dry season, there's a waiting season, there's a grinding season, there's a test and trial season, there's a spiritual warfare season and then there's harvest season.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 3:

So a lot of times you have to understand what that season looks like for you, right, and understand what, the ramifications and the what it looks like, right, what are the, what are the outliers in that season that you can pick up on to understand what season that you're in?

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 3:

And then what you have to continuously do is, you know, in whatever season you use for me is to continue to seek God right and ask for the wisdom and the knowledge to understand. You know what it is that I should be doing in this season, what it is that he wants from me, and also did I place myself in that season? Because there's one thing that we have to understand God cannot be held liable for what we have free will over.

Speaker 1:

It's Lord, have mercy, and that you know the thing about it. Some people will blame God for stuff that we got ourself into. We sat up there and we fell in the hole one time and then we got back out and then walked right back into that same hole and then now you blame it. God, you know, you, you saw you went in at first, so now you, you got to deal with that and so, like you said, that that's good, right there.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we think about like I have a 26 year old daughter, or 27 now, and there's certain things that she would want to do, and she would come and consult me and ask her dad, I would like no, I don't think that's a good way. Well, I work hard and I do. Well, go ahead and help yourself. And God is probably the same with us. When we come to him and we ask him for something, he's like no, I don't think you need to do that. He gives you signs and you know wonders, and and and and things put are in place for you to realize that this is probably not the best decision, but we decided to go anyway. So then, when we fall in the ditch, then we want to run back to God you know exactly.

Speaker 3:

Oftentimes, I think we mislabel God for what he's really designed to do, the things that we should be. We are within our control, like paying our bills on time, being a good steward of our money. You know we're praying to God to take, bring us out of that season when we have control over that he's here for our salvation, to get our heart right, to help us navigate our spiritual journeys.

Speaker 3:

Not pay my bills, not give me a new car, not help me get the house of my dreams Like. If I follow the principles of the Bible, I will be able to get those things right.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, so, exactly. And sometimes I think about the children of Israel, when you know God was giving them the manna and they, they just was like well, what is this? And? And God, you know God's like, ok, you got to, you got to do your part. And we don't realize that doing. You know God is going to give us what we need, he's going to give us everything, he's going to give us what we need In order to get there. And so a lot of people just won't. They think it's going to fall on their lap and just be like OK, yeah, god, you going to pay my bill. No, god, that ain't the God I serve. I'm sorry. He's going to give you where you can get up and go pay your bills. So that's good. What about you, tiffany?

Speaker 2:

One recent season that comes to mind is actually a season I'm currently living through. I shared that I was the executive director of Bethany House and being a nonprofit leader was not on my radar whatsoever. I had no background in executive leadership. I have no background in human services. I have no background in counseling. I have no background in domestic violence.

Speaker 3:

Right and.

Speaker 2:

I started a business in 2013, a personal training business, and I wanted to tie the day of time, as part of our business model, to organizations that need help, so everybody that would work with us would have to volunteer one day a week. So I started volunteering at Bethany House in 2013. And I thought I was there just to serve the people and do a good thing and help the organization. And God allowed me to maneuver through the organization. I was open to doing everything and everything they allowed me to do Built their website, I organized the pantry, I went on speaking engagements for the organization, I planned events, I showed up and answered the phones, I did the newsletter, I learned grants, development. So all that time, seven years of service, god was teaching me the organization that I would ultimately lead. And at the end of the pandemic January 2021, the executive director had to leave suddenly and one of the board members called and said are you busy? And so I stepped right in and I jumped into an organization that was struggling and that was on life support. One of my board members said I jumped onto a sinking ship, but I was confident in it because I had grown a love for the organization and because God had been preparing me all along.

Speaker 2:

So sometimes God will put you in a season and you're enjoying the season and you think you're there for one reason it's not even a bad season. It's a season that you're actually enjoying. But you're in that season not just for what you're there, for what you think you're there for. Sometimes he's placing you in there to prepare you for your next season, and that's been the story of my life. Every season I've taken something that's prepared me for a future season, whether it was the next season or a season 10, 20 years down the road. And so just being open to what God has to teach you in any season and collecting everything you can and embracing it and stewarding it and valuing the season that you're in, even if it's a difficult season, knowing that God promises to cause all things to work together for your good, just take what you can in that season and take it to your next. You just never know what he's going to do with it.

Speaker 1:

That is so I mean the thing about it, and I tell people all the time that a lot of the stuff that I dealt with was prepared me for my now and even though back then it was painful and I looked at it as a different way, I was like God, why am I here, like I'm doing everything you asked me to do? But things are not changing. But it's amazing how God can take what he taught you back then for you to for your now, for right now, and that I mean that right there in itself is a great way to embrace it, by taking it what you have learned and utilizing it for what God wants you to do now, and I'm so happy for you. Like you know, like I saw Pastor Edward with him there, that's it and.

Speaker 2:

I had many shouting sessions together.

Speaker 3:

Congratulations, tiffany. As you were saying that I'm going to just interject this real quick Daniel 221 came to my mind as you were talking about it, and when you said God was preparing, you literally gave me goosebumps. And you know, daniel 221 says he changes the times and the seasons, he removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. So that was just that popped in my mind when you said what you were going through, and that was a beautiful story and a testimony to just trusting God in every season of your life and knowing that it's all working for your good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And giving your best in every season, you know, even if you're in a season where you think you're just a volunteer or you think you're just working at the grocery store, like, give your best because you just don't know. You know God's so awesome and he loves us so much and if we're available he'll use us. So we just have to really embrace every single season and just take the most out of it. But I love the whole book of Daniel, me and Daniel. We were Daniel 10, daniel 2. Ok, right, I doubt it, right.

Speaker 1:

Well, what about you, Pastor Aaron?

Speaker 4:

And I'm going to need you, carlton, to send or post, to do something that those seasons you listed.

Speaker 3:

You kind of just do them off your lips. I'm like whoa.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I want to take notes tonight, but that was really, really, really good. The three seasons that I open, or I sometimes share, rather, is the due season, the due season and the due season. So you get the DO, the DEW and the DUE, and sometimes we're so focused on just getting the DUE that we forget that there are some things I got to do, and the more I DO, I can feel the DEW that only the master can do, because he's the only one that can make it rain. I can, if so many seasons that I could mention the one season that I will mention specifically around my role as pastor. I've been January of the 22 years of me serving at our church. I was hired in 02 as director of ministries and when I came in, I came because the leader was like yo, I need some help, so bring your administrative skills, come over and help me. Great, so I came over and helped and two weeks in I'm being transparent y'all I'm at the season now where I can do this.

Speaker 4:

Two years in, my pay was cut yeah, $5,000 cut and I had to call my wife and just like, did I make like a mistake? I couldn't stay in my old job. Two years later, in 2004, it was cut again. So it was cut 6,000. So I got a wife and three children. I'm gonna tell you how much I was making, but it was, it was, it was, it was. But I knew in that season he's doing something, but I couldn't put my finger on it, like God, help me right here. But he had given me such a love for the leader, even though it was a leader and again, I'm not trying to throw it, because I love him 100%. And so, as I tell the story, because we're so quick to point the finger and kind of throw people on the bus now I understand what God was doing now and even though at that time I didn't understand it, even to the point that people around me didn't understand it, but I stayed the course, I mean like literally so and I went from being director of ministries to becoming executive pastor. So I got a, I guess, a promotion, but without pay, because so many times we're only thinking about this pay, right, and I'm realizing that there's such a value of what God is pouring into you Exactly, but you don't know that's coming down the road.

Speaker 4:

So then, two years later, which is now old to 2007, he became incapacitated, and I never forget that day. Like I remember, like yesterday I was on the phone with Bishop Ergarns from New York and I told him what was going on. He was, he had two heart attacks. He was in hospital. He said to me, he said, son, he says whenever the president is down, the vice president steps up automatically. And I said, bishop, but now this ain't that? He said yes, it is. I said, but now there's a process. He said it doesn't matter about the process, the she needs to see somebody at the helm that they trust.

Speaker 1:

Amen.

Speaker 4:

You are the one that they trust.

Speaker 1:

Wow.

Speaker 4:

I'm going to continue this season and I'll give it back to you, piana. He came out to Cologne a couple months later. That was November, so March of the following year, this is now 2008. A lot of stuff happened in the church. I won't even go into that. I could really I could write a book, all the details of that. But I remember going.

Speaker 4:

I taught a Bible study on the B attitude, specifically the B attitude that says blessed are those who are persecuted for rights, as they say, blessed are those who are falsely accused. That was on a Tuesday. I set up a meeting, tiffany, to go see my pastor because there were things that people were saying to him that wasn't truthful. I was like, as you're a second pastor, let me go and just meet with you, have a one on one. So I was supposed to go meet with him on that Friday. I got a call that Thursday saying you can't meet with him on Friday because you're a nursing home. You got to go Saturday. Holy Spirit said to me it's a setup. I was just so speculated on going into the meeting Sharpegoz, because at first it was just going to be a one on one. Early in the morning I was going to be. Hey, saturday afternoon have to get to the nurse or home. I walk in the room. But I brought one of the other ministers with me. Little girl, what was about to go down?

Speaker 4:

I got there thinking that the preachers that where there were just visiting something find out. They set me up in a meeting. So I'm standing at the foot of his bed. I got Him soon to my right, I got two bishops. That's to my left. He's in a bed, his wife is standing here and the other preacher standing over there, and Carlton.

Speaker 4:

My job was to meet with him, regardless of who was in the room, and I stood there and I began to share I want y'all to hear this and all of a sudden he started telling me things that people had said to him. That was like complete lies, I'm like, and all I have. I heard God say you just talked about this on Tuesday. Now you're about to live it. Stand right there and take it. So I stood there with my uniform on, had my towel on, I just stood there and after about maybe 40 minutes or so they stopped the meeting. They had prayer and while they were praying I said to myself as soon as they get to praying. I am getting out this room. When they got through praying he called me to his bedside, asked me a couple questions that was confirmation that I knew people had been in his ear and had tears running down my face.

Speaker 4:

I got on the elevator. I went downstairs. While going down the stairs on the, I got to the bottom of the elevator at the nursing home. That was because at that time I lived. I had an apartment. I'm in the house now, but I was in the apartment. Then there was a lady who lived in the apartment building with us, was at the bottom of the steps, had visited her dad and she saw me and she's like can I get a ride home? Cause I had called my wife upstairs and I was mad, carlton, and I told my wife I don't think I can do this. But y'all know how, if you keep talking negative, you'll talk yourself out of something.

Speaker 4:

But now I got this neighbor in the car with me. So now my language has to shift, have to shift, but now I can't talk crazy. By the time I got home, the Lord said to me you got peace, I got you on this, don't you worry about, and I'll honestly, you all and this been ugly. I have not looked back, I just continue to trust God. I remember those moments, but that was a dark, crazy, ugly season and what got me through it was my cold experience Cause if you could beat my mama and I could take that and I could take this over here.

Speaker 1:

Wow, wow. And man, I'll sit here like, and if you haven't just taken that moment to be in that pitted party or that mad or that, and now you wouldn't be where you are now. And that's the thing. We would sit there and mistake or mislabel or what God has done to us. It would be like, oh my goodness, that I'm gonna quit. And I tell people all the time quit. And if you quit you won't see the end. And I tell I'm like I'm not gonna quit.

Speaker 1:

So one thing that I had to learn is how God reveals to us the seasons that we are in. And even like now, cause I kept asking God, why did you move me to Duluth? I was doing well in making Georgia, where I was living before, where I was living in Fort Valley, I had my own radio show, I was doing my podcast, I was singing on the praise and worship team, I was opening up the church, I was doing well. And you bring me here to Duluth, where I don't know nobody, and I'm like, well, god, why did you? And for me I was mislabeling this season, this waiting season for my next. And then God showed me the other day that this is your building, this is your growing and building season. And I said, wow, it hit me like a sack of potatoes. And so one thing that I wanna ask you all when God revealed that what the season is for you all, how was it, how did it look for you and what did you learn from that revelation?

Speaker 3:

I'll go for me real quick. I wanted to kind of piggyback off some tips that earlier. Excuse me, coach Tiffany, I don't mean to call you to.

Speaker 1:

I know I Tuti.

Speaker 3:

When she was talking about serve, doing when you're serving, you know, just do the best you can. And I think a lot of times we forget that our God is a God of excellence. Right, so we're serving him in fullness. Why is anything that we're doing not an excellence, that is not a direct representation of the God that we say that we serve?

Speaker 3:

And if we're not moving in excellence and we're professing to have his into, to be his disciples and other people see that, what does that say about? What does that, you know, portray to them when they're looking at our lives and they're not reading their Bibles and we're operating, you know, in half, half the standard. So you know, I appreciate what she said because that is a reminder to me to whatever I'm doing, just to do it in excellence, because God is a God of excellence. But like in like, in my current season I'm personally I'm in like the the test and trials and spiritual warfare season now, or the waiting season, because basically I was my situation, my position, as I was a sales director for the each region for the company that I worked for for a couple years. We were bought by another entity, came in, they hired this, this guy, and God kind of prepares you for things before they happen. So I.

Speaker 3:

The first thing that happened in that season was my counterpart, who am I am. They split our companies up and me and him went over to the new company and then the other company. Half of the people stayed on that side when they split up and they, we went over that side. I was going to continue to run the entire sales team for the nation and he took down, like commercial responsibility for the overall business. Different cultures and in the companies we were from, you know, from a culture that took care they they're their people looked out for their people to just like a comp, a culture of, you know, get the job done, no matter what. It's about the bottom line versus about taking care of your people. And he called me one day and he said hey, man, got something to tell you. I'm like what's going on? So I was called to a meeting and they didn't tell me why I was coming. They made me drive up here like five hours and they introduced me to my replacement and so we're going back to the old structure and so now my, my, my spiritual, okay, something's going on. And so things begin to play out. And then, you know, the guy came in. He would try to like.

Speaker 3:

One time I was on vacation I had we had a meeting company. Why? My one of my managers? I had set her up for a meeting that we had with the division head. I wasn't there, but I had already planned a vacation months prior to him coming. Her knees gets in a near fatal accident and she rushes to to be there. So I was like she calls me while I'm on vacation and I said well, send Doug and myself an email, tell him what's going on and you know everything should be fine.

Speaker 3:

Next day I check my phone from work. He leaves, he puts a meeting on my calendar While I'm on vacation and it says expectations. I'm like what is this about? So then that Tuesday I get back to work, I have a meeting with him and he talks about how bad the meeting went Because nobody was there and do I think I should have been in the meeting because she shouldn't have been there? I'm like what's the purpose of me being on pto then? Why would I Stop my vacation with my family On the time that I earn? Well, you, as a leader, you should. You know this is part of. I was like okay, whatever. So it's just a little bitty things like that, right.

Speaker 3:

And so in the back of my mind, as I'm, you know, studying and just doing what I'm doing, god is like, and in the mind that I've been saying, I want to kind of branch out and do my own thing anyway. So God is like this season is about to be over. Come back after the 4th of July. He, he sends me another meeting. Clear your calendar. I'm coming in town, meet me at the office. I was like babe, this is this. Probably, finna, tell me I don't have a job, no more. Slowly but surely, that's what happened, but God worked it out where I would be continued to get paid for an extended period of time. And so in this season, now is the season where I am Building what God wants me to build, and that is me being diligent about studying my word, me getting closer To him, all the things that he requires of me to prepare me for this next season that I wouldn't have been able to do it on my job, right.

Speaker 3:

But, every step of the way. He said I'm going to take care of you if you trust me. So this is like my, my test, my build your faith season. This is all you want and it's just. You know. Continually, god, it just continues to show out for me and even those those times when you know the devil's like well, your sevens about to be up, you might need to go get a job, blah, blah, blah. And then I always think about my God. So I got like a little thing where I can look back over my life and I said God did that? He mean he brought me out of that situation. He brought me out of this situation, but in every season of my life he brought me out of said situation.

Speaker 3:

And then, I have happened when I wanted to happen or how I wanted to happen, but it happened and it was for my good. Like third, john 13 and 7 says you may not understand now, but soon you will. And so that's where I'm at right now. So God is preparing me for whatever it is that I'm going to embark or endeavor on in this next season of life.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I'm telling you, I, as I I was on uh, I don't know who page I was on, but anyway she was asking um, what, what is the word that God has given you for 2024? And my word was building and I and and the thing about it, just like you say, I'm building on what God has already given me, but I'm gonna build and continue to build on Because he done showed me what season of men, and so when we get that season, now we can learn and now we can go with that, and that's one thing that God has shown me. Okay, now is your growing and build a season, because you know, for him to take me from, like I said, my church. My brother was my pastor, so I didn't have to worry about I got family, all my family, missionaries, you know. I got probably about Uh four or five siblings. They got their own church, so I didn't have to, you know, and so, so, leaving all of that, it was like, well, god, you know. But now is for me to grow and expand more and to build on what he has Given me to do.

Speaker 1:

He told me that the radio station. He said I had to let that go and I'm like God, I just started it, you know, and I was so excited when I got on the radio. That's a dream of mine to be on a radio station and have my own radio station, my own time and everything. And God is like no, I got something greater and I got something better, but I need you here and need you to focus on building. And I was like, okay, all right, that's what you're well being to do and that's what God is, is is getting, is asking us, is to learn what he's doing so we can be able to understand my Um, the acronym Cued is quick and united, understanding, excited and determined for christ. So we have to be able to understand what god is doing in that moment. And so, um, but I didn't want to take away from you. Uh, I know you were getting ready to say something, coach.

Speaker 3:

I agree with you, like and the word that I heard for for me going into 2024 is equipping. So it's like god is equipping me for whatever task he has that at hand, and I kind of have an idea of about it. But I'm just kind of they got, you know, take his course. Um, I've been, I've been, I've been in a Jonah season for a long time, so now I'm out of that Jonah season, so I'm just going to let god equip me and continue to perfect me and mature me. Um, so I can, you know, do whatever it is that he desires me to do.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome. That's awesome. Coach Tiffany, do you have anything to say about? About that?

Speaker 2:

I love that so much. Um for me, I think Coming into the season happened so fast that I didn't have time to really process the season itself. But I do know that I was very aware that I had been prepared. I had gotten my real estate license not long ago. I'm a collector of of new experiences and information. I've got degrees, certifications. I just learned stuff. That's what I do.

Speaker 2:

I got to Bethany house and almost immediately we had a situation with a property we were renting For the safe house while our current safe house was being renovated and the landlord Didn't want to give our security deposit back. And Instantly I had to put this real estate knowledge into play. Like who doesn't get, why would I need that? But because I understood landlord tenant laws, because I understood I just finished studying all that I had that in my pocket. So I, firmly and strongly, he sent her a letter saying that she was in the wrong and she needed to release our money. And she did oh, but I had the language for it, I understood the law and I could explain it to her very nicely that we're not punks and we're not stupid. We know that with this money. So even things like that, like there were the everything that I've done in my life I can go all the way back to my mom was a real estate agent and when she farmed she would have us stuff in envelopes and she taught us this system for how to stuff envelopes quickly and to save money at Bethany house instead of hiring companies to do our mailings. Sometimes in in house will do our mailings and I got to teach all the volunteers this quick way To fold and stuff and get it done so we can knock those things out.

Speaker 2:

It's like every season, if you really, like you said, see why be excellent, like, just just do it well, right, you just don't know eight years old stuff in envelopes that you know 40 years later. It would benefit you and what you're doing, but you took the time, even as a child, to embrace something that was being taught to you. We just have to, and every single season, know that God's he doesn't waste anything and, as ambassadors for him, like you said, see why we have to just be excellent in what we do and and be excited about the work that we have, and I'm praying for the maturity enough to be excited through the trials. You know I'm really.

Speaker 2:

This has been my mindset over the year, because this has been a year. But, god, I know what you're doing, I know that I'm I pray big, I believe big, so he's got to fortify me for the things I'm praying for. And you can't do that unless you go through these seasons where you're being built, where you're learning spiritual warfare, because the the demons I'm going to have to fight when I get what I'm been praying for.

Speaker 2:

You're the generals and I got to be ready.

Speaker 1:

I can't be unbattle tested for the night, so and that kind of reminds me of when you said that. That kind of reminds me, and I mean, cut you off. But Um, how, david, was it prepared, like when he got to kill the light?

Speaker 4:

He had already been doing that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, right there, before he even even, and so you know that, that, just that, just bring it all together.

Speaker 1:

What you were saying about, even with the the learner, how to stuff envelopes, you know, um, I would think about past the days when he was talking about the plow, the plowing and and how you know that stuff. You know some of the stuff that even when I was a kid, my dad had me doing that I'm able to, to stick with it now, because it's like what they ain't got to it that when I was a kid you know. So now the devil got to come with something a little bit different, because I already know I do that. So you got to come with something, come with to come with when, when it comes to me and and I was thinking about how you said that it's a lot of stuff that I've taken that I'm like we're doing, why I'm doing this, you know. And then next day you know, and it's like, oh, this is why you know and and that's I mean. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off, no, no, that's good, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3:

I just went to think about that.

Speaker 1:

I was like oh, my goodness, that just made so much sense. And Because we we all gather things, we all get knowledge, and get knowledge on things, that we be like hey, I don't even understand why I'm doing this, but I am doing this, you know. And now it comes to to the definition that, oh, my goodness, this is why I was learning how to stuff envelope. I know you was kidding you, like doing my mom one day, so, um, but, pastor Edward, did you have anything to say about?

Speaker 4:

Wow, I just man, both of you all, just just so blessed me. I I know you did it once, carlton. I think it's worth mentioning again um with Tiffany said, just Because sometimes we get in certain seasons and I think again to your point, see why, knowing what, what your season is, and you got to be able to label that thing on that thing and walk in whatever that season is, but oftentimes we let our feelings get involved in those seasons and those feelings sometimes cause us not to walk in excellence and not realizing that, whatever you saw, you go reap and I just think again, excellent, I I'm that 's.

Speaker 4:

I know PD always thought that's a kingdom value, that's what we should be doing. But we don't always do that. We don't always give our best foot For especially something menial or whatever case. Maybe it was like man, wherever, wherever you find yourself or wherever God places, you give it like it's the best thing going Because you don't know like when that's gonna come up again.

Speaker 4:

I've got so many of those which is at Tiffany, so many those stories of Something I learned in the previous season, previous job, previous assignment, previous whatever, and I found myself using it later, saving myself time because I know how to do it. I got to make no phone calls. I can get done quick, fast and hurry. I made the pull stuff together just because I learned that skill in the previous season. Um, I know your question was about just kind of how do we handle when we get the revelations about the season I know for me sometimes, I know for me, sometimes the? I get multiple. I get the initial revelation that God is doing something, but sometimes the manifestation or the reality of what he's doing, that by the time I get it, I'm so locked in. But I find myself and specifically I mean we talk about this note-taking thing Now I've had to scale since I was like 2021. I didn't get the revelation until April of 2022. So I was 50, so I was 20, 50, was that 52? When I got this revelation from God. Yo do something with this. You got this gift. I'm like what? So it's kind of crazy. I've been running around with this thing all this time and God, all of a sudden, he releases it. And then I start having what I thought Carlton, what I thought was a vision. And Lord said to me no, that ain't. No, what you're saying is views. I'm giving you peaks, but I need you to keep. Let me hold the paintbrush, cause you getting happy about what you think is gonna happen. You don't have a clue about what God is going to do.

Speaker 4:

And so, a true story in March of this year, I was at the Preachers Academy that PD and Keon Henderson did at the first break, and I normally don't be the first one to stand up and say something, especially when I'm in no taking mode, cause in no taking mode, you're just like no taking mode. So. But they opened up for people to kind of give takeaways, and that first session he talked about the filter of the heart, the pastors, et cetera. So I stood up I was like, okay, I'm gonna be the first one to say something. And I made sure that I let PD know I'm Edwin, cause he gave me a shout out at the Dominate your Year Challenge. He sure did I remember that. And so I said who I was. He was like, oh, you're Edwin. And he paused. Everybody said wait. He said if you learn copywriting I would hire you. So the whole room started clapping and I'm standing there, cause at that point I forgot what I was supposed to say, cause I'm receiving what he's saying.

Speaker 4:

Cause I'm like this is good, but I don't really know what this means, cause I'm like I've heard copywriting, but what does that like really mean? Right, there's a pastor at the table with me that I had never met, whose daughter was in illegal space. He reached out to her while PD is talking to me to get her to send him something to give to me about copywriting.

Speaker 1:

I love it Fast forward.

Speaker 4:

This is true. I'm telling you, these seasons are so important. We had thrive, which is now October of 23.

Speaker 4:

We had thrive and, if y'all remember, day one I was sitting kind of in the back, but day two I was over on the side. So I was sitting and typing and there was this young man sitting behind me I had never met. He saw me typing and he was like man, how can I get your notes? So I said let's exchange numbers. And he said I said man, send me your email address so that Monday morning after we got back from thrive, he shoots me a text. He says great Monday morning. Whatever he said, he says man, I pray God's blessings on your copywriting business.

Speaker 4:

Here's my email address. So when he not talked that week, I was like he said man, look, the Holy Spirit told me to sing in that text and you would know what it meant. When I saw the text, I was sitting there, I was getting ready to do some notes. It was a Monday morning, I was about to do some notes for the day in and I saw it and all I heard the Holy Spirit say start your own publishing company. You start publishing people's books, and I heard it's clear as day. But because I understand seasons, don't you get out there and start running, or not? Now slow it down. You gotta learn, you gotta develop, you gotta do some research, you gotta do some things. But the seed was planted. So as I deal, I'm trusting him to DEW to keep that thing moist and I'll continue to press forward and in the right season I'll see the DUE, and so for me, revelations come as I continue to be faithful and the steps he's ordered for my life, and as time moves forward, I'll let God get the glory.

Speaker 3:

Ah, that's amazing.

Speaker 4:

That is so good.

Speaker 3:

That is amazing. I just gotta give you kudos on that because it's funny. I remember when I first joined Bible U and I would see the notes, and now I know it's you. So that is amazing. And the beautiful thing about this is one thing I learned that every season is meant to manifest a purpose in your life, which is ultimately to get you to your final purpose of what it is that you need to do to this earth to do so.

Speaker 3:

He did not send me here to be a sales executive. He sent me here with a gift already inside me and I have to cultivate that gift through these seasons in order to add value to the creator, because if you're not valuable to the creator, then you're not valuable to anyone. So during those seasons, I need to craft my value to the creator and then add more value to the world for the kingdom, and then you will start to see all the other things that we have talked about come to fruition and you start to understand why I went through that. They say you read what you sow, you just don't reap when you sow.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 3:

You might reap five years later, you might reap two years later, but you are gonna sow what you reap. And here's the thing about it One seed produces an apple tree. How many apples come off that tree?

Speaker 2:

Right Wow.

Speaker 3:

Wow. So it's exponential what you sow either good or bad. So when you're sowing for God and you're going through these seasons and you stay in faithful to Him, he's gonna exponentially bless you, as long as you stay consistent with what it is that he wants you to do and give Him the glory in each and every of one of those seasons Right, because you know that it's in Him that you live, move and have your being.

Speaker 1:

Right, that's right, that's so good, I loved it so much. I ain't gonna tell no story, because the simple fact of just listening to everybody and how God has really revealed everything to you. Pastor Edwin, I tell you, you know, when you started with the notes and getting the notes to everyone, I knew you had a calling on your life period and I was like this is not just a normal note taken, you know, because I was like is he right? Like how can you even focus to write all those notes like that? I don't even know. I know I write good notes, but goodness.

Speaker 1:

But I'm so excited because, like we all said, is that you know our seasons sometimes we don't even recognize it that God is already. Like you were saying that you was note taken when you were 22 and then to come back and God just put it on. And one thing you said, Carlton, that just blessed my soul and I was sitting there thinking about how you were saying you know, when the apple tree grows, and it grows so many apples and you know it start back over and then it grows some more. So we are always growing and being able to give what we have. Okay, we don't need, we don't have to recognize the fact that we don't even recognize the fact that the apple tree don't eat its own apple. The apple tree is for somebody else. The apple tree, the apple, the fruit of your labor, is for someone else. It's not for you, and so-.

Speaker 3:

I don't wanna just plant trees, I mean, I don't wanna just bear fruit, I wanna plant trees.

Speaker 1:

Right, right, oh, man, that is so good, that's so good. Oh, my goodness, I'm so excited. Did you have something to say? I?

Speaker 2:

did? I just wanted to piggyback on what Pastor Ed said, too, about waiting for the right season. Like God will reveal something to you in one season that you're not supposed to execute in this season.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

And I am a like get the play and run girl and in this season I have really had to learn to slow down. You know, joshua walked with Moses for a long time and he wasn't the leader yet. He had to sit and watch and wait. He had a vision. David had a vision. He knew he was gonna be king. Right, he already was given the assignment, wasn't time yet he had to wait for the season for himself to ascend to the throne. And I think that's really important and key, when God shows you something, to really sit with it and ask when? When am I supposed to do this?

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 2:

When you're a visionary person already and you see something so clearly, you wanna bring it to fruition now because you forgot the picture. But it's so important to just be still and hear from the Lord and collect the views. I love how you said that, pastor Ed, because I have not had language for it. But it's not the full vision all the time. Sometimes it's just views, it's snapshots of the whole and you have to wait and see when you get the full picture and then when it's time to execute, to bring that full picture to fruition. So that helped me a lot. I'm feeling it. I'll give you credit the first time after that. Right, I'm?

Speaker 3:

feeling it, I'm feeling it, I'm feeling it.

Speaker 3:

I'm feeling it Really resonated with me. So I would definitely, if it's okay, to kind of get some feedback from you, pastor Ed, and yourself, q, because sometimes I struggle with okay, you have the vision right or you have an inkling of what you should be doing. How do you balance the waiting and learning while you're doing the faith, and doing right, because faith without works is dead. So but then also you don't wanna move too fast, like you said, because you're trying to count the cost. So how do you guys ascertain, when you say, okay, now it's time for me to move forward in this season, after I've done all my due diligence and what you know, if anything that is consistent, that kind of resonates with you and you say, okay, that's like the go button, that's the green.

Speaker 1:

Ah, that's good, Because, like I guess for me, when I get that because after I've been waiting and I feel like I've gotten the green light for me is when I get confirmation, like if I've been praying for something and I just spoke it with somebody, and then, you know, somebody confirm it I could be somebody that wasn't even in the room or whatever and they confirm it. That's like, okay, all right, god, I hear you and I'm so. I like to say I'm so in tune with God, but I'm one of the ones that I'm gonna pray and I'm not gonna move until I get that confirmation, because of the simple fact that I don't wanna be wrong. I wanna make sure, like even with this, you know, when Pastor Daly started talking about this on Sunday, I was like, okay, god, you got it. You know, because even with the interviews that I do, god will always confirm that it's the right person for the interview.

Speaker 1:

I don't go like I have people, all the people, come to me and say, oh, I wanna be on your show or whatever. It don't work like that, like I have to literally say that to serve people. It don't work like that. God sends me to people, almost like how he sent Noah the animals God send me to people. I don't have to go and look for them and I'm not, you know and nobody. Just finna, come and say, oh okay, I can get on a boat too. Nah, it don't work like that. You know what I'm saying, so that's my take. I'll know about you, coach Tiffany, how you can handle that and give some feedback to him.

Speaker 2:

I would say the same thing confirmations, multiple different ways. God usually confirms things three different kinds of ways, to me at least. And then open doors and closed doors. What are the doors that are open and around you that line up with those confirmations? What are the doors that are closing around you that line up with those confirmations? And that always wise counsel. That's why I love being in these communities where I know people are praying, I know people are learning God's words so they know what it looks like when God speaks. And people who are encouraging so they can pray with you and counsel you and speak to you from experience and from a spiritual place. So those are some of the ways that I really seek God.

Speaker 2:

I'm really big on talking to my husband about things. As a wife, he's got to be hearing from God for me too. So when I'm wearing things by him and he's like, no, that's left field, I heard nothing close to it. That's all for me. So a lot of different confirmations and a lot of different ways to seek it out. Peace also if I'm at unrest with something, there's a difference between a nervous anxiousness about doing something new and a just unrest. If I'm unrest, I feel like that has been a sign to me that I'm out of alignment If I take a step and I'm at peace, even if it's scary, because you can be scared and at peace at the same time. So, but if I'm at peace and I know that the scared is just normal nervousness about doing something new that peace for me has been a good lightning rod and a good measure for me.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, that's good All I would add. I know the clock would stop and I'm just running out of a demographic at this point, but what I would say, I agree with everything that they've said, 100%. I should have been taking notes, stephanie, what you just said, stephanie, that was really really good. I think about Joshua and that what God did with Joshua, it was different than what he did with Moses.

Speaker 1:

Right right.

Speaker 4:

Sometimes it's like wait a minute. Okay, I know what the red sea crossing looked like, but this ain't the red sea. I'm probably gonna do this one. Moses didn't have to put his foot in the water, but Joshua did Right and then. So you gotta be bold enough to make those steps, Even if you just make the steps, and the more you put his foot in the water. The Bible says that God stopped water coming from because it was a river, Unlike the sea, where the water's just kind of sitting. You got a river that's rushing. He stops water that's coming and that's going, it just suspends. That's what God's about to do with you, sir. So just be ready to put your foot in the water, man.

Speaker 4:

All right, thank you, I would say this is good for your maintenance.

Speaker 3:

And I definitely appreciate that feedback. I really appreciate that.

Speaker 1:

That's good. Okay, well, I'm gonna let everyone go. I feel like you all have given advice to everyone on how to handle the season that you are in. But if anybody wants to just give like a little quick advice to the listeners, to the audience, that you know how you know, to whatever season God have you in to enjoy it, to embrace it, so if you have any advice on that, that will be perfect, and then we'll get up out of here.

Speaker 4:

Faith is the foundation that we stand on Pieces. As Tiffany said earlier, peace is not the absence of pain, it's the strength to endure it. I just think, whatever season you're in, we can't stop trusting God just because it feels crazy Right. We can't stop trusting God. God's job is not to make all my feelings feel well, right.

Speaker 4:

God is a faith God and I got to be reminded of that. But I also got to be reminded of, whatever season you're in, he's present and His presence is the fullness of joy. And just like and I'll say this and I opened up with this way earlier that when Paul was left for dead, there were disciples that came around him, and the Bible says he got up and went back Keanu, I want to thank you for bringing us together that there's somebody that may be down, but our words tonight will help them get up, go back and stay where God called them to be and then move to the next place. Because then the next verse of Bible says that Paul then went to the next city and preached and people came to Christ, and then he came back to the very city, because God will always have people ready to do what God needs to get done.

Speaker 1:

In Jesus' name. Hey, that's the best advice that anybody could take. I just want to thank you all for being on here. I'm so glad that God allowed this to happen. Like I was mentioning earlier, I tried to do this earlier and it wasn't time, and that's the thing. I had to realize that God had to really sit me down because I was so ready or go, but it wasn't time then. So I'm thankful that God has given me the grace to be able to do this, and I just want you all to let everyone know where they can reach you all, where they can follow you all, and that way we can get everybody to know exactly what you're doing in this community. So I'm gonna start with Tiffany.

Speaker 4:

So just yeah, yeah, father, god, we thank you, we bless you and we honor you, god.

Speaker 4:

But Kiana, who has brought us together the timing of this a week before Christmas?

Speaker 4:

God, we just pray in the name of Jesus as we close this out, god, we pray that somebody has heard something that they needed to hear, God. We pray to God that the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts have not only been acceptable to you, god, but we pray, god, that they'll be pleasing to those who hear, because you said that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word. And so, god, we just thank you for the wisdom that's been released. We thank you for the word that's been released, god, and we just pray that, as that has been released, that people will receive it and that, whatever season they're in, they'll stand trusting you, knowing that you're the God of timing and nobody has mastered time like you. We put our hands in your hand and we thank you for this time of our lives as we move forward to see you do what you're going to do in a great way, not just in this season, but in the seasons to come. You get the glory and we pray this prayer in Jesus' name. Amen and amen.

Speaker 1:
